Did you know that the first verses revealed to our beloved prophet were instructing him to read the holy Quran? yes, the first thing the angel Jebril said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was “read”, when the prophet said I can’t read Jebril said “Read”, and again the prophet’s answer didn’t change, and then the angel said the following verses:

ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ١”

Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created—

created humans from a clinging clot.

Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous,

Who taught by the pen—

taught humanity what they knew not.” [surah Al-Alaq, verses 1:5]

Promotion of recitation (tahseen Tilawah)

The second part of the Quran reading classes online offered by Alhafidz Academy is regarding how to rectify your voice when reciting the verses of the Quran.

It was narrated that Abu Bara’ said:

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Make your voices beautiful when you recite Quran.'” [Grade: Sahih, Sunan an-Nasa’i 1015, Book 11, Hadith 140]

Our beloved prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said: “Verily the one who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

We will end today’s article with this beautiful hadith to encourage you to learn Quran recitation.

Aisha Narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Such a person as recites the Qur’an and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). And such a person exerts himself to learn the Qur’an by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.” [Sahih al-Bukhari 4937, Book 65, Hadith 458]
